Flexibility and efficiency are key to the food distribution business. RPA collaborated with Evans General Contractors to provide KeHE Distributors, LLC with the flexibility to grow and increase efficiency with market changes in the food industry. This 453,000 SF project includes 124,000 SF of cold storage (freezer, cooler, and cold docks), and is located in Douglasville, Georgia.

RPA has completed several other conversions and expansions for KeHE across the east coast and Midwest. These projects with ARCO Design/Build varied from eight-thousand square feet to eighty-thousand square feet. Several of these projects required consideration of existing operations and egress through adjoining spaces during construction as to not affect current operations.

Modifications / Additions included:

• Box-in-box non-conditioned warehouse to cooler and freezer conversions
• Box-in-a-box cooler to freezer conversions
• Dock to cold dock modifications with additional insulation, insulated dock doors, vertical levelers
• Modifying, adding, and expanding under floor glycol heating systems
• Modification of existing rack layout to provide more efficient picking
• Renovation of office space
• Modification of the sprinkler system to accommodate new spaces
