What was once a brownfield site in Montgomery, Alabama, is now home to one of the most technologically advanced recycling facilities in the United States. The project is an advanced mixed materials recovery facility designed to receive and process all of the municipal solid waste collected by the City of Montgomery via a single bin collection format. It is designed to sort out targeted recyclable materials to achieve up to an 85% recovery rate diverting tons of material away from landfills and into renewable materials and energy.

• 7,000 SF two-story office with an integrated 180-degree observation platform
• Load-bearing concrete tilt panel construction
• Curtain wall glass entry element with aluminum composite canopy and accents
• This design will be used as a prototype for all similar future IREP facilities
