This project entailed the renovation of the Aiken Hotel in Aiken, SC. The design goal was to restore the original 1898 old hotel building and bring it back to its former glory. The design included the addition of a Savannah-style courtyard, built in an unused area behind the hotel that would be used by the hotel’s future restaurant.

The exterior of a 1960s motel-style addition was also redesigned to integrate with the restored hotel main building. This addition featured balconies or private courtyards at all rooms.
