line

RPA helped ACFB research several existing properties before finding ACFB’s new home. Working with their leadership and staff, we analyzed their needs and established a design to better accomplish their goals.

The new facility, in East Point, GA, is a 303,175 SF storage facility with an 88,673 SF two-story office that includes 7,500 SF of training rooms for ACFB and community use, a 1,800 SF learning kitchen to help educate the community how to cook healthy meals, and 12,000 SF packing room for volunteers help sort food to be distributed to those in need.

The building is a tilt-up concrete building with a box-in-a-box 38,937 SF of cooler and 27,561 SF freezer, 141,514 SF dry warehouse, 4,600 SF grocery for agencies to pick-up food for people in need of nourishment around the Atlanta area. The roof is a white TPO for energy efficiency. The cooler and freezer are refrigerated by using the energy and water-efficient ALTA Expert system. The office tilt-up concrete is clad in thin-brick, with a dark-bronze storefront for the windows, and Nichiha wood accent panels to give it a historic warehouse aesthetic.

The office includes a breakroom, various sizes of conference rooms, offices for ACFB employees, offices for various support agencies, training rooms, mail/copy/print rooms, huddle rooms, and open offices. The entry courtyard doubles as a green space and outdoor event area located just off the employee breakroom.
