BeanTree’s Learning Center design responds to Washington D.C.’s international community. The center of the school is a “Global Courtyard” that communicates whimsical and lively global experiences. Building facades feature varying international architectural styles.
The school features eight special curriculum rooms including library, music, art, P.E., and computer classrooms in addition to nine traditional classrooms.
The Pavilion at BeanTree was designed to support a rich variety of year-round programs for kindergarten and school-age children. This facility reaches out to the community with as much energy as the children bring into the building.
The sculptural exterior encourages curiosity and excitement and the colorful interior features flowing circulation zones that communicate in the language of youth. It conveys a strong and sophisticated statement to passersby on the adjacent highway.
