Placed on top of a narrow site that sits elevated from nearby roads, the 30,000 SF new headquarters for Ely Corporation has been designed to make the most of the site constraints by splitting the building into two wings based on function. The front wing is tilted to maximize views and visibility from the road. Exposed concrete design elements that reference the company concrete business are used throughout. The linear design allows for future expansion without disruption.
The structure steps down with the site to minimize the need for site work. The interior space features a dramatic two-story reception and a second story open deck for company events. Overhangs were carefully designed to provide ample shade during the hot summer months.
