This facility serving the distribution needs for Kraft Foods Southeastern U.S. operations is located at the 197 acre Majestic Airport Center (MAC) III park. It includes approximately 310,000 SF of refrigerated and freezer space, 650,000 SF of the dry storage warehouse area, and 25,000 SF of two-story, Class A office space.
The aesthetic challenge for large, functional distribution centers is to resolve the issue of scale. RPA designers used this building’s functional features of doors, windows, louvers along with architectural reveals, and recesses to establish a rhythm, pattern, surface variation, and visual interest.
