RPA successfully repurposed this 1950’s 23,000 SF warehouse into a modern industrial office space for the OxBlue Corporation. By capitalizing on existing features like the original shell of the building, concrete floors, interior brick walls, and steel deck, this office space is truly unique and full of the original character. Pipes, conduits, and ducts are unpainted and exposed adding to the modern industrial design. All private offices and conference rooms have a minimum of one glass wall to support the owner’s vision of an open office atmosphere. Another unique feature is the salvaged shipping container that encloses a one-of-a-kind conference room adjacent to the reception area. An old freight train car was found behind the building and was salvaged and converted to an exterior social space for company events. The freight train car doors were used as dramatic wall art behind the reception area and also at the social coffee station. Energy efficiency was achieved by the use of LED light fixtures and occupancy sensors controlling the lights.
